## IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ ### INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION 1. **Property Sales** If you have **sold the REAL ESTATE PROPERTY** described on this notice, please send this notice to the new owners or return it to the Tax Collector's Office immediately. If you **sold the TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY**, but were the owner on January 1 of the tax year, you are responsible for the tax. 2. **Verify Description** Please **verify the description** of the property. If any errors in the description are found, notify the Property Appraiser as soon as possible. This notice covers taxes for the calendar year, January 1 through December 31 of the year indicated on the front. 3. **Duplicate Bills** **If you have not received notices for all of your Pinellas County properties**, visit our website pinellastaxcollector.gov to print a duplicate bill. Pursuant to Section 197.122, Florida Statutes, "all owners of property shall be held to know that taxes are due and payable annually and are charged with the duty of ascertaining the amount of current and delinquent taxes and paying them before April 1 of the year following the year in which taxes are assessed." 4. **Discounts** **Discounts** for early payment have been calculated for you on this notice. Please pay only one amount. **Schedule of Discounts:** (These discounts do not apply to the Installment Plan.) | Month | Discount | |-------|----------| | November | 4% | | December | 3% | | January | 2% | | February | 1% | Discounts are determined by postmark of payment. 5. **Payment Mailing** Please reference the account number from this tax bill on your payment and mail to: **Pinellas County Tax Collector, P.O. Box 31149, Tampa, FL 33631-3149**. Postdated checks will NOT be held pending deposit and customer will incur fees if check is returned by the bank. 6. **Delinquent Taxes** UNPAID TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS BECOME **DELINQUENT APRIL 1ST**. - For **real estate** taxes, 3% interest plus advertising cost is imposed. Tax Certificates will be sold on all unpaid real estate and non-ad valorem assessment items on or before June 1st. - For **tangible personal property** taxes, interest accrues at 1½ % per month plus advertising and fees. Tax warrants will be issued on all unpaid personal property taxes, pursuant to Chapter 197 F.S. - If postmark indicates payment was mailed on or after April 1st, interest and costs are determined by the date payment is received by the Tax Collector. 7. **Payment Records** If paying by mail, please keep the top portion of this bill for your records. Please note that your taxes are not paid until your check clears the bank. 8. **Questions and Problems** - **Tax Collector**: (727) 464-7777 collects and distributes the taxes pursuant to current laws and regulations. This office is responsible for preparation and mailing of tax notices based on information contained on the current tax roll certified by the Property Appraiser and Non-Ad valorem assessments provided by the levying authorities. - **Property Appraiser**: (727) 464-3207 is responsible for the preparation of the current Ad Valorem tax roll which includes the assessed value, all exemptions, taxable value, assessed owner name and address, address changes and property legal descriptions. Call the office of the PROPERTY APPRAISER regarding questions on any of this information. - **Taxing Authorities**: Responsible for setting Ad Valorem Millage rates. - **Levying Authorities**: Responsible for setting Non-Ad Valorem Assessments. --- ### DETACH HERE Please detach and return this bottom part with your payment.
